Actually, yes. I've had it for 15 years, and it's never needed anything but the occasional oil change and routine maintenance.

You have no idea how hard it is for me to read article, by article, by forum and forum about how the engine basically destroys itself if it is being used, or if it is garaged. I ADORE the W8. I seriously have it high in my car bucket list (Alongside a Harlequin Golf) and it is an internal battle of "Well, maybe it isnt too bad. Probably I wouldnt use it on highways so it might be ok." and "EVERYONE that has owned it has had a problem. Look at everything everybody has tried and fix!"
Still, I wasnt too hung up since I couldnt really import one to Mexico from the U.S. UNTIL I discovered they did offer the W8 Passat in Mexico. There are 2 for sale in all the country. FREAKING 2! Ah! Internal fight rejoices.
